One night I was casually scrolling through Instagram.
Then I stopped. A young guitarist from Thailand was absolutely on fire. Nene Royal.
Transcript:
Her name is Nene Royal, and she’s from the beautiful island of Phuket.
What first caught my attention wasn’t just her guitar playing.
It was the confidence. The smile.
And the pure joy she brings every time she steps onto a stage.
As I watched more of her videos, I discovered that her talent had reached an international audience, including an appearance on America’s Got Talent, where her energetic rock style introduced millions of viewers to another young musician from Asia.
One detail I really liked was that Nene didn’t begin by trying to imitate anyone.
From an early age she mixed singing with electric guitar, developing a style that feels youthful, energetic, and completely her own.
Watching her reminded me that rock music is always renewing itself.
Every generation discovers someone who inspires the next one to pick up a guitar.
For many young musicians in Thailand, Nene Royal is becoming one of those inspirations.
I’m Tess with JRok Music.
Su su na, Nene! Laew phop kan mai!
See you in the next story.
“Real Verse” is Nene Royal’s first original composition, an instrumental guitar piece she wrote herself.
