Sometimes discovering a new artist feels like finding a hidden gem. That’s exactly how I felt the first time I heard Gyubin.
Transcript:
Have you ever discovered an artist…
just before everyone else started talking about them?
That happened to me recently with a young Korean singer-songwriter named Gyubin.
(JRok Music Stories Theme)
The first song I heard was **”Really Like You.”**
It has this bright, cheerful feeling that’s almost impossible not to smile to.
The melody stays with you, and before you know it, you’re humming along.
So naturally, I wanted to learn more about the artist behind the song.
Gyubin officially debuted in early 2024, but she had already gained attention for her songwriting, expressive vocals, and her ability to play both guitar and piano.
Before long, **”Really Like You”** began spreading across social media and music charts throughout Asia, introducing her to listeners in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and beyond.
Now, her story is entering an exciting new chapter.
Gyubin has signed a major label deal with **Sony Music Labels Japan**, where she’ll begin her Japanese music career. Her first Japanese release will be a Japanese version of **”Really Like You,”** introducing her to an even larger audience.
I always enjoy watching artists take that next big step.
Japan has a long history of welcoming talented musicians from across Asia, and it’ll be exciting to see how Gyubin grows as she begins this new chapter.
If **”Really Like You”** is your first introduction to her…
I have a feeling it won’t be your last.
I’ll definitely be watching to see what she creates next.
I’m Tess with JRok Music.
I’ll see you in the next story.
